You’re not losing strokes on the swing. You’re losing them on decisions.

  • Penalties

Water, out of bounds, lost balls. Most start with a tee shot aimed at the wrong side of the hole.

  • 3-putts

Usually a speed problem from long range, not a line problem from short range.

  • Doubles

One risky choice turns a bogey into a double. Six of those is the difference between 95 and 89.

Strokes-gained research found that most of the gap between a 70 shooter and an 80 shooter comes from shots of 100 yards and out. Putting accounts for only about 1.5 strokes of it.

Six rules. Every hole.

No swing thoughts. Just where to aim, which club, and when to take your bogey.

  1. 1Aim at the fat part, not the flag.

  2. 2Tee off away from the big trouble.

  3. 3One shot to get out of trouble, back to the fairway.

  4. 4Club for the back edge, not the pin.

  5. 5Lag to a 3-foot circle.

  6. +1

6Bogey is a good score on hard holes.

Four tools come with the plan: these three, plus the Bogey Builder.

  • My Yardages

Your carry numbers and where to aim with each club.

  • Caddie Card

Your Game Plan on the course, with a Posting mode for rounds that count.

  • Round Review

Why it works

Strokes gained is a way of scoring every shot. It asks one question: did this shot leave you better or worse off than a typical golfer from the same spot?

Measured that way, the long game decides most of the difference between golfers. Not a better swing, but a better target: the safe side, the right club, the lay-up that keeps a bogey from becoming a double.

Questions

All questions
Is there swing instruction?

No. Every lesson is about decisions: where to aim, which club to hit and when to lay up. If you want swing help, a local PGA professional is the right call.

Do I need special equipment?

No. A phone, and a rangefinder or GPS if you already use one.

Can I use the app in a tournament or a round I post?

Use Posting mode. It shows only your pre-round Game Plan and your stored yardage chart, with no live recommendations, in line with Rule 4.3. Check your club’s and committee’s rules too.

How long are lessons?

Between 3 and 10 minutes. Each one ends with one rule to take to the course.

What if I don’t know my club distances?

Module 2 shows you how to find them on the range with a simple 30-ball routine. Until then, enter three clubs and the app estimates the rest.

Keep your swing. Change your targets.
